The 1st prize in the school category, as well as the 2nd and 3rd place in the overall ranking won the Makerlab team in the largest robotics competition of Belgium, Robocompetitie 2019 (1.5kg SUMO), which took place in Ghent on 4th of May!
The Robocompetitie competition was organized for the 11th consecutive year by the International Non-Profit Organization “Dwengo” and the University of Ghent, while this year there was a collaboration with the festival of inventions and creation “Maker Faire Gent“.
The 8-member mission of the Educational Robotics and Research Laboratory Makerlab was for the second consecutive year the only Greek participation in the competition. High school students from Agrinio and Astakos in Etoloakarnania built and programmed 2 robots, which competed in SUMO robotic races with another 48 robots from Belgian teams.
